Start Volunteering at Blue Hill Place

Our Blue Hill Place project is a 24-unit complex at 350 Blue Hill Ave in Dorchester.

Please be aware that your site assignment is subject to change and you may be transferred to one of our other sites due to construction logistics. If this occurs, we will inform you as early as possible.

There are four simple steps to start volunteering at one of our construction sites. If you have already volunteered with Habitat Greater Boston within the last three years, please skip to step 2. If you want to find out more about other methods of volunteering, the orientation session is the best way to learn about those opportunities as well.

1. Sign up for a mandatory, one-time only, volunteer orientation at our online orientation registration form. Please be patient as our orientation sessions fill up very quickly.
   
2. Select a date from our Blue Hill Place online calendar. Some days are reserved for individual volunteers and some are reserved for groups. Make sure that the day you want has available space left and occurs after your orientation date. Build days are very popular, and we want to allow as many people to volunteer as possible, so for now we're trying to restrict volunteers to one build day a month.
   
3. Email: After you have found an available date when you want to volunteer, send us the following information:
• If you are an individual volunteer, email volunteers@habitatboston.org with your contact information (phone and email) and the date when you want to volunteer. Please make sure to write “Blue Hill Place, Date” in the subject of your email (i.e. "Blue Hill Place, 3/25/08"). You will receive an email back with a confirmation.
• If you are a group, please complete a Blue Hill Place Group Registration Form, making sure to include additional build dates just in case we receive several requests to build on the same day. Please fax the form to (617) 423-1044. A confirmation email will be sent to your group captain.
  
4. Attend the orientation and get ready to build!
