Habitat Greater Boston’s Board of Directors is made up of accomplished professionals with backgrounds in architecture, finance, law, property management, construction and real estate development.
Suanne St. Charles, Esq., Chair
Ms. St. Charles was elected as Chair of the Board of Directors in 2013. A partner in the Real Estate Practice Group at Holland & Knight, Ms. St. Charles has extensive experience in a broad range of real estate matters.
Susan Winston Leff, Vice Chair
Ms. Leff was elected as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors in 2013. Ms. Leff is Principal at Susan W. Leff Associates and is one of the co-founders of New England Women in Real Estate, past President of the Real Estate Finance Association and past president of the Board of Directors of the Boston Children’s Museum.
William DiSchino, Treasurer
Mr. DiSchino joined the Board of Directors in 2008 and was elected Treasurer in 2010. He is President and CEO of Barkan Management Company, a leading manager of residential properties in Massachusetts. Mr. DiSchino is also past President of the Rental Housing Association.
Robert E. Kenney, Clerk
Mr. Kenney was elected as Clerk of the Board of Directors in 2013. He is President of Kenney Development Company, a leading real estate firm engaged in development, urban planning and consulting. Mr. Kenney also serves as a Trustee of the Greater Boston YMCA and Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation of Wellesley.
James P. Dever III
Mr. Dever is Vice President and Regional Manager of Institutional Relations for Santander. He has served as Chairman of Habitat’s Family Partnership Committee since 2006.
James P. Kirby
Mr. Kirby is President & CEO of Commercial Construction Consulting (C3), a company he founded to meet the needs of the real estate development, construction, and engineering communities. C3 provides a complete range of technical services to its clients, all supplied in-house by experienced staff. A member of the Board since 2006, Mr. Kirby served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013.
Jordan P. Krasnow, Esq.
A partner at Goulston & Storrs, Jordan Krasnow has been practicing law for over 40 years. He specializes in real estate acquisitions and dispositions, real estate financing and real estate development. Mr. Krasnow was elected to the Board of Directors in 2014.
Michael E. Liu, AIA
Mr. Liu is Vice President and Principal in charge of Design at The Architectural Team. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009. He also is the former Chairman of the Selection Board for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Ms. LoPiano was elected to the Board of Directors in 2012. She is Chief Lending Officer for the East Coast at Boston Private Bank & Trust Company.
Mr. Malihi was elected to the Board in 2007 and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2009 to 2011. He is Executive Vice President and Principal at Leggat McCall Properties and past President of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.
Mr. Papantonis was elected to the Board of Directors in 2013. He is President and founder of Nauset Construction, a full-service construction company pre-construction, construction management, design-build, and general contracting throughout New England.
Howard Wayne, Esq.
Mr. Wayne was elected to the Board of Directors in 2007. He is the founding partner of Wayne, Richard & Hurwitz, LLP where he specializes in business transactions.
Kathryn E. West
Ms. West is Vice President of Real Estate and Facilities at Partners HealthCare. She was elected to the Board of Directors in 2011. She is also on the Management Committee of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properities (NAIOP), Assistant Chair of the Healthcare and Life Sciences Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Boston Center for the Arts and on the Board of Trustees of Lasell College in Newton.
Lark Jurev Palermo, President & CEO
Ms. Palermo was appointed as President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston in November, 2005. She has an extensive background in housing, nonprofit management, and real estate development. She is the former Commissioner of the Division of Capital Asset Management and a past President of the Board of Trustees at The Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
