Board of Directors
Habitat Greater Boston’s Board of Directors is made up of accomplished professionals with backgrounds in architecture, finance, law, property management, construction and real estate development.
Susan Winston Leff, Chair
Ms. Leff was elected as Chair of the Board of Directors in 2015. Ms. Leff is Principal at Susan W. Leff Associates where she performs financial and feasibility analyses for commercial real estate investors, developers and nonprofits. A co-founder of New England Women in Real Estate, she is past President of the Real Estate Finance Association and past president of the Boston Children’s Museum Board of Directors.
Robert E. Kenney, Vice Chair
Mr. Kenney was elected as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors in 2015. He is President of Kenney Development Company, a leading real estate firm engaged in development, urban planning and consulting. Mr. Kenney also serves as a Trustee of the Greater Boston YMCA and Chairman of the Housing Development Corporation of Wellesley.
William DiSchino, Treasurer
Mr. DiSchino joined the Board of Directors in 2008 and was elected Treasurer in 2010. He is President and CEO of Barkan Management Company, a leading manager of residential properties in Massachusetts. Mr. DiSchino is also past President of the Rental Housing Association.
Anthony Papantonis, Clerk
Mr. Papantonis was elected as Clerk of the Board of Directors in 2015. He is an engineer and President and founder of Nauset Construction, a full-service construction company providing pre-construction, construction management, design-build, and general contracting services throughout New England.
Mr. Fish was elected to the Board of Directors in 2015. He is President and founder of Dellbrook Construction, a full-service general contractor and construction management firm. He is also Partner/CEO of JK Scanlan Company, LLC, which is also a full-service general contractor and construction firm based in Falmouth, MA specializing in healthcare, renewable energy and municipal projects.
James P. Kirby
Mr. Kirby is President & CEO of Commercial Construction Consulting (C3), a company he founded to meet the needs of the real estate development, construction, and engineering communities. C3 provides a complete range of technical services to its clients. Mr. Kirby served as Chairman of the Habitat Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013.
Jordan P. Krasnow, Esq.
A partner at Goulston & Storrs, Jordan Krasnow has been practicing law for over 40 years. He specializes in real estate acquisitions and dispositions, real estate financing and real estate development. Mr. Krasnow was elected to the Board of Directors in 2014.
Michael E. Liu, AIA
Mr. Liu is Vice President and Principal in charge of Design at The Architectural Team. He served as Chairman of the Habitat Board of Directors from 2007 to 2009. He also is the former Chairman of the Designer Selection Board for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Ms. LoPiano was elected to the Board of Directors in 2012. She is Chief Lending Officer for the East Coast at Boston Private Bank & Trust Company.
Mr. Malihi was elected to the Board in 2007 and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from 2009 to 2011. He is co-President of Leggat McCall Properties, a member of WGBH's Board of Overseers and a Trustee of Hebrew Senior Life. He is also past President of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board.
Kimberly Sherman Stamler
President of Related Beal, Kimberly Sherman Stamler was elected to the Board of Directors in 2016. She is responsible for overall management of Related Beal and leads the company in pursuit of new development opportunities. Ms. Sherman Stamler is also a member of The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy.
Suanne St. Charles, Esq.
Ms. St. Charles is a partner in Holland & Knight's Boston office and a member of the firm's Real Estate Practice Group where she specializes in all aspects of commercial real estate development and finance. She served as Chair of the Habitat Board of Directors from 2013 to 2015.
Lark Jurev Palermo, President & CEO
Ms. Palermo was appointed as President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston in November, 2005. She has an extensive background in housing, nonprofit management, and real estate development. From 1986 to 1992 Ms. Palermo was a partner in the real estate department of Wilmer Hale LLP. She is the former Commissioner of the Division of Capital Asset Management and a past President of the Board of Trustees at The Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
