Story:
My husband Thom and I have been long time supporters of Habitat
for Humanity because we have experience personally what a difference
homeownership has made in our lives. It is an organization that
truly changes the path of the individual/family who becomes a
Habitat homeowner. I feel blessed and honored to be running the
Boston Marathon as a "Habitat Hotfooter".
My husband ran the Boston Marathon in '98 when I was pregnant
with our first daughter, and I have hoped to run it ever since.
We now have two amazing daughters, ages 6 and 8 and I would love
to show them (and myself) that you can achieve your goals with
hard work. I love that I have the chance to raise money for Habitat
Greater Boston and potentially change another persons life at
the same time I am absolutely changing my own. I hope that my
girls will learn the value and responsibility of helping others
and make it a part of their lives in the future. And who knows,
maybe we'll even run a marathon together someday!
